Properties of galaxies with ring structures

Aims: We present a statistical analysis of different characteristics ringed spiral galaxies with the aim assessing effects rings on disk galaxy properties. Methods: built catalog from Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 14 (SDSS-DR14). Via visual inspection SDSS images, we classified face-on brighter than $g < 16.0$ mag into with: an inner ring, outer nuclear both and pseudo-ring. In addition to rings, recorded morphological types existence bars, lenses, pair companions or without interaction. With goal providing appropriate quantification influence properties, also constructed suitable control sample non-ringed similar redshift, magnitude, morphology, local density environment distributions those ones. Results: found 1868 galaxies, accounting for 22% full galaxies. addition, within structures, 46% have 10% 20% 6% 18% partial ring. Moreover, 64% bars. that lower efficiency star formation activity older stellar populations (as derived $D_n(4000)$ spectral index) respect objects sample. Galaxies structures excess high metallicity values compared ones, which show $12 + \rm Log (\rm O /\rm H)$ distribution toward values.
